A 47-year-old Ocklawaha woman was arrested after a male victim accused her of battering him with a metal pipe.
On Sunday, May 29, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal responded to a local residence in reference to a domestic incident. Upon arrival, the corporal made contact with the male victim who advised that Katina Jones had struck him in the face with a metal pipe.
According to the victim, he was in an argument with Jones when she became “enraged” and began throwing his personal items around the residence. He then stated that Jones walked to his pickup truck which was parked in the yard of the residence, and she removed checks that had been written to him for jobs that he had completed.
Jones allegedly began to rip the checks. The victim stated that while he was turned away from Jones, she allegedly threw a metal pipe at his head. When he turned back towards her, he stated that the pipe struck him in the face. His right cheek was lacerated, and his dentures fell out of his mouth.
The victim told the corporal that Jones picked up his dentures and fled the area on foot. The MCSO report indicated that deputies were able to locate Jones in front of a nearby residence, and she was detained in handcuffs.
The corporal arrived at the nearby residence and made contact with Jones. She claimed that the altercation with the victim was only verbal. She also told the corporal that she had a glass pipe used for smoking narcotics hidden inside her vagina, and the victim’s dentures were inside her underwear.
The victim’s dentures were recovered from Jones. She was then arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where the glass pipe was recovered and placed into evidence. The corporal noted in the report that Jones also had a pack of cigarettes that contained a small, rolled paper filled with a green leafy substance that field-tested positive for the presence of marijuana.
Jones is currently being held at the jail on $7,000 bond. She is facing a felony charge for aggravated battery and misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams) and drug paraphernalia.
A court date has been scheduled on Tuesday, June 28 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
