A new silicone screen-printing ink line from Boston Industrial Solutions is perfect for adding an anti-slip feature to socks and gloves. The ink can create high-gloss, eye-catching 3-D designs on cotton, wool, nylon knit and polyester.
The Natron-SilTex AS series of screen-printing inks is ideal for decorating things like promotional slipper socks that can be given out at hospitals, senior facilities or even as part of a home spa self-care box. The ink lasts for more than 50 industrial washes, according to Boston Industrial Solutions. Apparel manufacturers, branding agencies, promotional products distributors and organizations looking to offer sustainable, PVC-free prints would benefit from the ink, which is made from environmentally safe, low-energy-curing silicone polymers, according to the company.
Stahls’ (asi/88984) recently released PVC patches – high-end, dimensional patches that appeal to a wide range of markets, according to the decorating supply company. Featuring a rubber-like look and bright, on-trend color options, these custom patches are available as heat-applied or pressure-sensitive transfers. PVC patches are soft and flexible, but durable enough to withstand wear and tear. With a waterproof finish and raised thickness, these new transfers are ideal for heavy apparel, outerwear, hats, bags and hard goods like water bottles and tumblers.
Name Badges International, a division of Top 40 supplier World Emblem (asi/98264), recently added a new style to its array of identification products. Borderless plastic name badges are available with full-color printing of logos and text. They come in a wide range of background colors and font options. Though there’s no border, the outside edges come in black or white.
The economical badges are available with a choice of pin or magnetic fitting for attaching to apparel. They’re also coated with polyurethane to resist scratching and fading. There’s no minimum order and no setup or design fees.
Beaver Paper, an Atlanta-based manufacturer of sublimation media and sewn paper products, recently launched the TexSeal Eco Pouch sustainable paper packaging. Made from renewable forest products, the pouches are an alternative to plastic packaging.
The pouches are 100% recyclable, biodegradable and available in different grammages. They’re ideally suited for packaging apparel and can be formatted into pouches, bags, flow packs and sheeted lining. In addition, the Eco Pouches offer excellent heat sealability and provide an exceptional barrier to aromas, oxygen and water vapor, according to the company. The pouches can also be printed on for branding purposes.
“Many eco-conscious companies will appreciate a simple, sustainable packaging solution that’s truly earth-friendly,” said Tobias Sternbeck, CEO of Beaver Paper.
